Some trials in life are things that people think they can do by themselves. Others are problems that they find themselves drowning in. Some people will look to God for there help. While others will look to themselves for the guidance they need only to find they are unable to do it. It is only in God that we can find the strength to press on and hold our heads high while doing it.
During my childhood my mother was a single parent. She struggled to get by at times but she never let her eyes fall from God. We would live in the house that our church owned and we would go to the church every weekend. I'm sure there were times when our situation was bleak but we had good models all around us. Those models helped make our lives easier and we are forever in their debts. Even better they were all devote Christians and made a very strong impression on both my mom and I.
Most people would find living like we had to as a hard and grueling situation. My mom could have become depressed or gotten addicted to something bad like drugs. Some people would have simply given up or stopped trying, because there didn't seem to be a light at the end of that tunnel for a long time. But my mom did not stop she looked to God for all the help she needed. She always looked to God for whatever she needed.
Through out life there are times of great hardships. It depends on how you go about dealing with those hardships that is important. You can either lean on God or you can lean on yourself. When you lean on God all things are possible and nothing can possibly truly hurt you. If you lean on your self your more likely to cause yourself more hurt than you would want. Its all about how you choose to deal with your problems and who you lean on.
